In 1970, De Jong built another tjotter for the sailing school of the youth hostel 'It Beaken'. This served as a replacement for a tjotter with the same name, which was already present in 1946 when Heit and Mem Piersma started the youth hostel sailing school. The Tjilling from 1970 is the widest tjotter in the fleet.
Daughter Jikkie Piersma remembers that she often sailed in the original Tjilling. “This was not the Tjilling we know now, but a much smaller version. A really handy tjotter.”
There is a third Tjilling, built in 1957 by the Gebr. De Jong for client O. van Leer, Chicago (USA). The tjotter was shipped to Chicago not long after completion. It is not known what became of this boat.
