De Zee is a one-of-kind flat-botommed Dutch fishing boat, used for eel- and other fish-pot fishing. With het origins in Dordrecht, where three big rivers meet just before streaming into the sea, she’s a tough, seaworthy (if your quick with a bucket) little yawl, made of rivetted steel. Revamped and characterized by Dutch artist and beachcomber Erik Smit in the beginning of this century, she is now in the collection and custody of a family that loves Dutch maritime heritage.
