Montagu Whaler ‘Swan’ Montagu Whalers” were part of the standard equipment of the Royal Navy, Designed in 1890’s by Admiral Montagu and were in commission from then to the 1960s. They were a multi-purpose ships boat, able to be rowed or sailed, for utility or rescue purposes. Few examples remain but Swan has been saved by a group of enthusiasts. She is reported to have been built in Malta in the 1930’s.
